EXPERIENCE
My experience in the field of coastal engineering and oceanography has been based on the idea of understanding physical processes in order to provide solutions to specific problems. I decided to work as a consultant after my master's studies, having the fortune to work in leading companies in their area, participating in projects around the world, and seeking to provide practical solutions to the challenges of each project.
After 11 years abroad, I decided to return to Mexico to contribute with my knowledge and at the same time learn more about physical processes. I then started to work at UNAM, where I have been able to lead research projects with an important applied component, solving problems of national relevance and participating in international projects. It is working at UNAM when I did my doctorate, and where I am now a researcher interested in topics such as waves, tropical cyclones, cold fronts, ocean circulation, climate change, and coastal engineering.
